I am already behind! Thought about all the different ways I could approach the first 30 Paintings in 30 Days in 2018 - had some ideas.....none of which have been followed through on....I am just happy to be painting. Even if it is just a little.

Janet, I could pause in my tracks for quite a long time, and already have, to plumb the depths of this painting. The soft ephemeral edges, the layers, the unexpected scratches and marks, the unsolved mysteries, the pops of revelation. CAPTIVATING.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Dotty for the generous comments. You have such a way with words. I am happy to hear that you want to stop and look and spend time 'searching'. I want the viewer to come closer and find more - it is my gift to them for stopping - to offer them that little something more - be it brush strokes, line work - that extra detail. As always greatly appreciate your time. Looking forward to more studio time in the coming months and visiting you and other artists' virtual studios for my daily dose of inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteYou are behind? I am right there with you, It is day 7, and I am still catching up on visiting artists. LOL
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this guy? He looks a little sad to me. Which makes me want to give him a long hug. Love the underneaths peeking, and the pop of warmth. And the emotions that you so easily capture! A master!!
Good to hear from you Sheila. He is a bit wistful - I agree - hugs and a cookie or two and maybe a good game of fetch!
