Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day 2

It is still officially Day 2 so I guess I am back on track. It has been a while since I have painted. Not by choice, so I am quite 'rusty', and inspiration is not jumping out at me. I have looked through some of my art journals......and there are a lot of them and plenty with empty pages. I went for the 'dog journal' - is a project that never quite got the attention I intended and today it provided me with some much needed inspiration.

(My art journal has lots of empty pages, too.)

  2. Hi Chris - thank you very much - and is reassuring to know that there are others with 'emptied paged' journals. Happy creating!!

  3. The FASCINATOR hats worn at royal weddings have nothing on this FASCINATOR. Again, I am pulled in with curiosity and wonder to explore and explore and explore the visual playground of delights here. For example, the use of scribbles. For example, that straight-edged glassine veiling.

    1. Now that's a title for a painting - 'The Fascinator'! Love it Dotty and pleased that you are finding things that catch your interest and pique your curiosity! I have learned this past year that the 'viewing audience' likes those smaller details - once drawn in they have a whole 'new painting' to discover and they are appreciative of it. I find that in your work as well - the layering, your marks - so much to discover and enjoy.

  4. She is just too sweet. I love your patterned details, the mix of details and soft, blurred looseness. The scratches, and her big puppy dog eyes. :) So happy to see you back Janet :)
