Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day 26
Fall is here!! We woke this morning to gorgeous yellows and oranges interspersed with the dark greens of fir trees. We weren't sure how much colour we would have this year. An infestation of leaf eating caterpillars decimated a lot of the poplar trees of leaves in the spring and then a summer of extremely dry conditions left some trees and shrubs withering away. But Mother Nature is undaunted and has provided us with another beautiful fall.

Gorgeous Janet! I love the depth, the light on the rock way back there. The greens the electric yellow with squiggles.Masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteThank you very, very much Sheila. It is so valuable posting and seeing things through others eyes. It helps me to step back and 'really' take a look! Take care Janet
DeleteThe scribbled angular lines here are magical, pulling my eyes to travel here, there, up, down, under. The bright yellow line scribble—which feel both completely free/spontaneous and masterfully restrained—are perfect, offered a bright entry point and powerful contrast to darker, more muted layers and passages of color.
ReplyDeleteDotty - once again your words paint the picture. Thank you very much taking the time to look and write. As I commented to Sheila - is good to see this through another's eyes! Have a lovely day
DeleteA beauty!
ReplyDeleteThank you Martine!
ReplyDeleteGreat feel of strength and power, like the composition that brings you in and splits you around the canvas. Super piece.
