Thirty Paintings in 30 Days - Day 14

So - today was suppose to be a 'painting' day other than a visit from the 'cable guy' which turned into a 3 hours later senario! Oh for a studio detached from the house.....that would be amazing!!! Another day of 'it is what it is' and 'there is always tomorrow' and...and.... I am fortunate I do have a dedicated space above the garage - started off calling it the bonus room but in the last year I have started calling it 'my studio'. You gotta claim that space!

Today's offering is not my summer garden but from one that I visited the end of June. This has been the driest summer we have ever experienced. Our water is supplied from a natural spring, so watering flowers was a luxury this season and first priority was for our animals and ourselves. There is always next year!

  1. Janet, I literally ran my finger over my computer screen to see if one patch was collage or paint before I realized what I was doing!!! SO, I would like to say: great texturing! Really pulled me in to investigate, gave my eyes so much to explore. Love the evocative ability of simple dabs of paint and pattern to create suggestion and scene.

    1. This one is what it is - lots of layers of texture - and some collage. I love flowers but alas I am not a painter of them. Thanks Dotty!

  2. I agree with Dotty, your textures are always so interesting and well done. I can't imagine what they are like to see in real life

  3. These textures are so welcoming to me. Why is that? Is it the rough and rugged that you find in nature? Or is it that I have come to expect it from you. Wonderful, deep, layered, reach out and touch me textures.
This cool, calm scene is soothing me. Thanks for the mini mind staycation :)
