30 Paintings in 30 days - Day 6

Working on neutrals/tone with a small bit of colour. The sky came together better than I initially thought...chances of doing that again....slim to none! Don't you just love painting! Might crop this, but for now will leave as is.

    Lovely success here using neutrals/tone with a small bit of colour Rich, nuanced layers pull my eye back again and again to explore, to travel round and round the painting. Your 'bit of color' offers striking contrast yet stays in exquisite balance with the overall piece. Love the brightness of the sky behind the clouds, again in balance.

      Thanks so much Dotty - trying to paint after a 5 day (intensive) workshop. Still unpacking and the painting this week - well - it is what it is. Always appreciate you insights and support.

    Oh this sky takes my breath away. Lovely! I love the bit of of bright, and how I seem to be looking up. I think it is perfect, as always. Love your scratchy weathered marks.
