Just a simple painting for day 5. Needed a 'play day'..... I used a credit card to add the 'hills' - really like the line and texture you can create using it. A bit of texture added using a couple of stencils and finally some simple lines added using water colour crayon.

Love the sky! The swirl of a cloud. Love how the foreground reflects the sky, but is not quite the same. Love the landmass, and the depth you have there. Light on the hills, and shadow. I love how I am always so pleasantly surprised when I visit your posts. You are so comfortable going in different directions, and it is so interesting to be invited along :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to comment Sheila. You help me to see something more in my painting. We are having blue sky, sun shining days here. The sun has some warmth to it - everyone is smiling - 2 and 4 legged friends. I am never sure when I go to my studio what will show up in the paint - and that might not be a bad thing. As for being comfortable - not always, but it does make things interesting. Take care
DeleteGreat painting, Janet. Love your use of stencils and the surprising forms you obtain with the credit card.
ReplyDeleteHave a great end of challenge!
Thanks Martine. Looking forward to seeing your next painting. Can't believe that there are just a few days left. Take care and enjoy your creative time.
DeleteJanet, love how you've captured a certain kind of winter sunshine/light. Love the simplicity—I literally, instantly, and reflexively came to a full stop, dropped my shoulders, and took a deep breath as soon as I drank in your painting with my eyes. Love the rectilinear stuff going on quietly in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dotty. Love your insights into this painting journey. You are always generous with your comments and they are very much appreciated. Take care and enjoy painting Day 26!
