  1. Janet, this piece is exquisite! So much atmosphere here in the soft soft air, the subtle but deliciously discoverable hints of chickenwire, the pearlescent dignity of Pearl's plumage, and the playground of muted colors, fine-line scribbles, and snippets of stenciling. Indeed, a little barnyard gem (love the pun).

    1. I am so glad you like her - I did a sketch for 'Pearl on the weekend and let her sit. If I hadn't done the other 10 chicks I don't think she would be here today - committing to this painting a day is so worth it for so many reasons - as you well know! Glad you appreciate the pun - I am slowly learning from you!! Have a great day

  2. Can't add much to Dotty's comment! She is a PEARL shining and reflecting her colors!

  3. Pearl is at a party, in a stylish new dress. She's not sure she can pull it off, maybe they will laugh at her for trying.
If she only knew how adorable she is :)
Love the surprise of a simple background with just a hint of texture. (I always love your busy backgrounds too :) )
Absolutely love Pearl and her pretty plumage! You have forced me to take in each tiny detail and I am so enjoying the journey :)
