Hmmm....Being First.....a good thing or a not so good thing? I suppose it depends on what you are 'first' for perhaps.
It just doesn't seem right not to start off the new year with some daily painting. I am hoping to paint 30 this month and get back into painting mode after taking most of December off.
I think young Mouse is not too happy with being first. He would have preferred to be further down the line after I had some practice with other members of his family!
2018 was a year full of all that life has to offer. Joy & laughter, sadness and doubt. Lots of painting, art workshops, a parent's health issues, my own chronic back pain, good books and lots of studio time both inside and outdoors. Joining an art co-op and having a space to show and sell my work and have my own shows - maybe Mouse will like being part of that! I am learning to slow down and appreciate what I have! And I am ever so grateful for you - who take the time to visit here.

Sigh. I just wrote a comment that got lost in cyberspace. I'll try again.
ReplyDeleteJanet, I am delighted and uplifted to know that I'll be seeing your art this month. Yay!
I am in a place of intentional hibernation currently, a place of shifting sands in which I am not painting regularly, not blogging regularly, not going to Instagram at all, but instead noticing where my attention goes, and discovering what bubbles up from my soul when I live in slow mo.
I am grateful today for the captivating layering and linework in 'Mouse' and for your gentle, thoughtful reflections.
Mine seemed to get lost too - thank you very, very much! Glad I send an email
ReplyDeleteLove the grumpy one. So glad Janet that you are filling this month with your art! YaY! I am going to try and do the same next month. So happy to see your art. Wishing you the best in 2019 :)
